Born in the Sea-to-Sky.
Replacing the synthetic status quo with natural performance.
It started with a prototype.
In 2018, an old friend and original Arc'teryx team member brought us an early prototype of a natural-material insole. It sparked a question: could an insole made with natural materials compete with conventional synthetic insoles?
At the time, Andy and Patrick had already spent three years working together, providing marketing and product development services to outdoor brands and other companies. Andy brought 20 years of experience in the outdoor industry, while Patrick had grown up in a family-run manufacturing business. They were looking for a project of their own.
The prototype gave them a starting point. They spent the next few years developing, testing and refining the idea, and Esker was born.

Thinking beyond the trail
Esker insoles are made from just three materials: wool, linen and natural latex. By choosing renewable, naturally sourced materials instead of petroleum-based plastics and synthetic foams, we’ve created a simpler approach to what happens at the end of an insole’s useful life.
We believe the materials we choose matter, not just while a product is being used, but when it’s no longer needed.
Trade plastic for performance.
